Job Description

The System Administrator (SA) is primarily responsible for administering and providing Level 2 support across a broad base of technologies to support Needham Banks end users. The SA's key role will be to confirm resolution of escalated problem tickets. The SA will act as a liaison with the IT Help Desk and Systems Engineering teams to ensure that the process is followed and SLAs are met. A successful candidate is a motivated self-starter with an aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly while multi-tasking on more than one high-priority deliverable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Ensure that enterprise computing resources are always available to the end users.
  • Support and administer the server, network, and application environment.
  • Understand innovative technologies.
  • Provide excellent Tier 2 support and mentor junior staff in the Information Technology department.
  • Assist in delivering successful task delivery, change management, and maintenance scheduling.
  • Work with application vendors to resolve system issues in a prompt manner
  • Prepare, maintain and formalize documentation and procedures on IT systems
  • May be asked to cross train peers, ensuring continuity of the specialized IT function across the department.
  • Adhere to industry regulations and best practices for continuity, security, and integrity of the IT systems.
  • Ensure departments meet established service level agreements
  • May be asked to assist with capacity planning, disaster recovery, network management, backups, documentation, and server-based application support.

Experience and Skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Solid knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems
  • Solid knowledge of group policy and active directory administration
  • Must be able to communicate with users with all levels of computer experience
  • Must be able to work unsupervised; be a team player; and reliable to start and finish a project in a complete and timely manner
  • Maintain a positive and professional image of the Bank
  • Results oriented, ability to hold application vendors accountable for problem resolution
  • Attend work on a regular basis, on time, and withstand varying degrees of stress
  • Ability to diagnose and correct hardware and software configuration problems
  • Knowledge of the Bank's software applications, technological infrastructure, networking and network design, and data processing systems
  • Ability to write and communicate adequately and coherently in a business environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Assist in the validation of IT controls and reporting for audit requests as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Associate Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft certification or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of five years' experience in administering and troubleshooting an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with cloud computing in an enterprise environment preferred

  • Ability to work with stakeholders and vendors over the phone, and remotely for extended periods
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to address system upgrades or problem resolution
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
