HES offers a variety of both physical activity and lecture courses that fulfill
GEP and minor curricula. As the sole provider of a key general education component, the department is uniquely situated as the only department in the university through which all undergraduate students must matriculate. Essential Job Duties |
The Department of Health and Exercise Studies (
HES) seeks applicants for a full-time non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer for the Fall 2025 - Spring 2026 semesters. The successful candidate will possess strong teaching and evaluation skills with an interest in physical fitness. This position will teach an estimated eight credit hours per semester with a focus on health and fitness-related classes in the 100-level course offerings, however additional upper levels may be assigned as needed. Additional responsibilities will include departmental committee participation. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
Requires a master's degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience. |
Other Required Qualifications |
Candidates must have expertise in teaching health/fitness courses. Examples include: aerobics, water aerobics, weight training, running, swim conditioning, functional training, etc. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Doctorate in Physical Education, Recreation, or related field. Experience teaching at the college or university level is preferred. |

Current First Aid and
CPR/
AED certification is required and must be maintained. |
