Job Functions:

According to the organization's mission and vision, the Senior Director, Adult Support Services provides dynamic and responsive leadership for adults' educational, training, and employment programs in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas Counties. This position oversees staff who coordinate each aspect of the education program and ensures that adult education and employment outcomes are met with excellence.

Essential Responsibilities:

Adult Education

  1. Supervise and support the Director of Adult Education.
  2. Coordinate with the adult education team, employment team, and case managers to assist clients in implementing their Education Plans.
  3. Ensure Metropolitan Ministries training programs are effective, growing, and serving targeted clients.
  4. Oversee planning, budget compliance, data collection, and reporting for grants and funders.
  5. Facilitate partnerships and relationships with Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas County Public Schools Adult Ed providers and other local adult education programs.

Employment

  1. Supervise and support the Associate Director of Employment.
  2. Oversee the implementation of the continuum of care for residential and community-based clients to ensure they transition from education to employment.
  3. Manage and build the partner development process to ensure we are obtaining hiring partners through events, networking opportunities, and team referrals.
  4. Oversee planning, budget compliance, data collection, and reporting for grants and funders.

Other Adult Services

  1. Coordinate the Virtual Uplift U program with the programs' teams, ensuring quality and innovative services are being provided.
  2. Coordinate with the programs' staff to ensure outcome measures for services provided are established and met.
  3. Responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing innovative programs and Virtual Uplift U for all program locations, ensuring the quality and innovative programming of services meet client needs.

Overall

  1. Ensure all notes and assessments are updated in a Metropolitan Ministries-approved data tracking system and that Key Performance Indicators are tracked and monitored.
  2. Oversee appropriate implementation and modifications of policies and procedures as necessary.
  3. Participate in program team meetings and advocate for clients' educational and employment needs.
  4. Take initiative in selecting and attending appropriate workshops, conferences, seminars, etc., to upgrade and enhance professional development skills and access services for youth and adults.
  5. Assist the Vice President as needed and perform any tasks assigned.
  6. Participate in Metropolitan Ministries' holiday efforts, Bridge Builders, and other fundraising events when needed.
  7. Provide tours of the facilities and speak on behalf of Metropolitan Ministries as needed.
  8. Demonstrate flexibility in the work schedule to ensure client/program needs are met.
  9. Support the team in other tasks as assigned.
  10. Meet personal goals and actively contribute to achieving the team and organizational targets/goals.
  11. Keep confidential records according to the Code of Ethics and maintain professional boundaries.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

Master's degree in an education or social work-related field. Must qualify under the State of Florida and related background requirements-minimum of three years' experience in social services or education. Direct experience working with children and parents is required. Must demonstrate a heart for serving poor and homeless families. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Skills Requirements:

Must be able to work effectively with children and parents, representing and communicating their status and progress to small groups and professionals within a network comprised of the Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas County School District, Metropolitan Ministries service providers, and applicable and related social service providers in the surrounding community. This position requires working within a multi-disciplinary framework; computer literacy with Excel, Word, and Microsoft Teams knowledge is desirable. Must communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, and demonstrate high comfort in this performance through home visits, meetings, etc. Therefore, strong interpersonal and supervisory skills are required. The position also mandates a strong level of maturity, sensitivity to issues of faith, cultural diversity, and the social skills to handle job-related matters professionally and diplomatically.

Physical Requirements:

Must have adequate hearing and speaking ability to participate and provide sound oral communication and information. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to transport oneself and clients when necessary. Must be capable of working outdoors in sunlight and higher temperatures for extended periods on occasion. Must have the physical, emotional, and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress.

Other:

Must be available to work during regular business hours. Must be available for evening meetings as needed. Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must pass required background pre-employment screening.
