Position Summary:

MedInsight is seeking a Client Engineer to deliver solutions and support for our clients while mentoring analysts within the Client Engineering team. This role requires a strong understanding of both client business needs and MedInsight technical architecture. The successful candidate will have strong analytic, technical, and communication skills.

While primarily an individual contributor responsible for client support and leading the technical components of implementations and projects, this role also includes managing a small team of analysts. The Client Engineer reports to the VP of Client Engineering within the Client Success Organization and collaborates closely with the Product Engineering and Sales teams.

What you'll do:



  • Write, review, and approve code within the client code base.
  • Evaluate data quality. Document and discuss how data quality impacts our clients' use cases.
  • Collaborate with team members across MedInsight to ensure effective solutions exist for data modeling, data review, release strategies, and automation.
  • Onboard and train clients on how to efficiently query MedInsight's data model in a Databricks workspace (SQL, R, Python)
  • Implement new MedInsight clients
  • Provide technical support for existing clients: researching analytic questions, code and config changes to meet evolving client use cases, develop client usage metrics
  • Develop code that enhances the Client Engineering team's ability to scale, including unit testing, CI/CD, and code reviews.
  • Advocate for Client Engineering best practices.
  • Be a mentor and advisor to newer staff. This includes assisting with onboarding and also manager/supervisor responsibilities.



As a Client Engineer you should have:



  • Deep Analytics Experience:5+ years of experience as a Healthcare Analyst, Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or equivalent, with a strong focus on data modeling, evaluation of data quality, and analysis of clinical or administrative health care data.
  • Expert SQL Skills:5+ years of advanced SQL experience, including complex joins, CTEs, partitioning, pivoting, window functions, and aggregations. Experience in Databricks (Spark) a plus.
  • Expert Dimensional Modeling:2+ years of experience designing and implementing dimensional data models for analytical purposes.
  • DevOps Experience:2+ years or experience developing in an environment that requires source control and CI/CD.
  • Technical Leadership: Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, lead projects, and provide guidance to team members.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly with cross-functional teams.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: A proactive approach to learning, with a desire to understand the business and ask insightful questions.

Location

This role can be located remotely within the US. The expected application deadline for this job is June 30, 2025.

Compensation

The overall salary range for this role is $85,100 - $168,600.

For candidates residing in:



  • Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the salary range is $93,610 - $154,550.
  • New York City, Newark, San Jose, or San Francisco the salary range is $102,120 - $168,600.
  • All other locations the salary range is $85,100 - $140,500.


A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc.
