Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager provides manufacturing leadership to deliver a superior customer experience and ensure excellence in team performance. This position is responsible for leading a team of 20 across Assembly, Manufacturing, and Production Quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead team to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPls) for Operations - Safety, Quality, Productivity, Inventory, and Delivery.
    • Follow and manages all safety rules and programs. Seek and eliminate any safety risks.
    • Hold others accountable to safety expectations.
    • Meet or exceed internal and external quality metrics. Use LEAN/Cl tools to identify and eliminate root causes for defects.
    • Lead team to ensure orders are completed on schedule.
    • Implement and oversee inventory control procedures to prevent discrepancies, minimize losses, and ensure optimal stock levels
    • Execute cost saving initiatives and motivate team to hit output goals.
  • Provide operational training and leadership and represent a positive, enthusiastic role model to create a positive place to work.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with strategic strong leadership and problem solving skills to manage resources effectively and meet production targets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Champion employee engagement actions to support and sustain positive employee relationsacross operational teams.
  • Implement and sustain manufacturing technologies that continuously improve operational excellence and model a lean/safety culture.
  • Collaboratively work with other departments to execute company projects.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for team members
  • Responsible for design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including a self assessment and report to management.
  • Ensure that quality assurance is followed and effective in satisfying customer needs.
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills mentoring staff, evaluating employee performance, dealing with performance & behavioral issues, and hiring.
  • Participate in sales reviews and work with functional teams in order to establish priorities.
  • Keep current on new and current manufacturing techniques.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 3-5 years of electronic manufacturing or controls experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading Production
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and prints
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience in ERP Systems, Infor, Epicor, Oracle is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, delivering thoughts and ideas clearly both written and verbally
  • Strong analytical skills, reviewing data to make sound decisions
Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience leading and/or implementing Cl/Lean tools and concepts
  • Experience in production assembly, mechanical repair, automotive, and/or electronics
  • Orientation to customer service focused businesses
