Position Summary:
The Senior Manager Project Engineering provides leadership and direction to engineering associates and is responsible for planning and executing of engineering projects at plant operations. This position works together with maintenance and operations leaders to implement engineering projects and drives compliance to corporate guidelines and standards. Thispositionprovides direction to engineering managers in the implementation of engineering projects to enable manufacturing facilities to accomplish productivity, growth and efficiency goals.
The Senior Manager Project Engineering works with OEM vendors and contractors to ensure successful engineering project execution and compliance to scope, quality, timeline, and budget goals.
The Senior Manager Project Engineering is responsible to propose and/or document standards for Project Engineering.
This position provides technical support to plant operations.
This positionhas 2 or more direct reports
This position reports Director or Vice President of Engineering.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide direction to engineering managers and engineering associates.
  • Develop and Execute Engineering Projects including:
  • Create project plans, budgets and Capital requests.
  • Create equipment specifications.
  • Request proposals to vendors.
  • Equipment Installation commissioning, troubleshooting, and supports on operators-training.
  • Execute projects on time and within budget meeting project's goals.
  • Support plant process improvement activities including equipment performance analysis, troubleshooting, and development of optimal settings and operating parameters.
  • Create content for corporate engineering play book aligned with corporate policies from other departments such as Operations, Finance, Human Relations, Corp. Procurement, etcetera
  • This position is responsible for modifying existing baking and packaging processes, implementing new baking and packaging processes as well as new products.

  • Technical and situational leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects on time and within budget.
  • Expertise in improving performance of existing equipment.
  • Skilled to create and do presentations of projects to senior leaders of operations and engineering
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively negotiate and influence peers.
  • Well organized, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with flawless results.
  • Availability to travel average 50% of the time. International travel is possible.
Education and Work History:
  • Bachelor's level degree in Engineering or combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work as described.
  • 3 years in a leadership role.
  • 5 years of prior engineering experience. Experience within the food, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industries is preferred. Expertise in baking is a plus.
  • Experience creating, reading, and understanding of Auto-CAD drawings. Ability to draw in CAD is a plus.
  • Computer skills specifically the ability to use Microsoft Office software
  • Experience managing capital projects (1 million dollars + in assets).
Physical Demands:
  • Walk and climb at industrial environment would be required.
  • Able to use a variety of communication methods on frequent basis.
  • Use a notebook computer and standard office equipment printers, phone etc.
  • Use various forms of transportation for extended periods of time on periodic basis.
