Mission

The Lab Intern will work under the supervision of the Lab Manager, focusing on testing procedures and other lab related duties.

Main Responsibilities
    • Learn and become proficient in ASTM/AASHTO Asphalt Binders and Emulsion tests methods and practices that are required for the project.
    • Calculate, record, and analyze test results obtained.
    • Check for quality test results and retest when necessary.
    • Coordinate with other employees on the use of the equipment.
    • Communicate test results to the Product Development Manager and Laboratory Supervisor and keep data well organized.
    • Ensure equipment is calibrated and standardized according to schedule.
    • Keep current on all safety training and follow safe work practices diligently.
    • Work on a special project(s) as designated.
    • Meet all university co-op requirements and coordinate with on-site supervisor on required activities.
    • Present findings to other employees at end of co-op term.

    • Frequently need to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with arms and hands.

    • Employee must safely move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

    • Working in a science or construction oriented university program
