Overview

Responsibilities

As a Lead Systems Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to do the following:

    Lead a team of talented, and experienced Engineers on new and ongoing research projects
  • Analyze project objectives and requirements, develop plans for conducting projects, provide support for the project safety review process, including participation in the development of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, documentation of hazards, and the specification and implementation of mitigations to those hazards
  • Oversee day-to-day operations supporting the customer's acquisition support mission
  • Review project instructions to ascertain requirements, specifications, procedures, objectives, equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions
  • Create reports and other documentation necessary to describe the results of studies and/or tests
  • Set up and conduct tests or studies of complete systems, components, or concepts under research test conditions to investigate proposals for improving performance or other factors; or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control with some supervisory direction and review


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Physical Science (required) - at least 5 years' experience as principal Investigator, Group Leader, Project Engineer, Project Manager, or equivalent
  • 20 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physical Science or

    • 18 years of experience and a master's degree in Engineering or Physical Science or

    • 15 years of experience and a doctoral degree in Engineering or Physical Science

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must pass drug testing
  • Good understanding and application of Engineering principles and Systems Engineering processes.
  • Must be able to work and lead efforts in a dynamic and multi-task work environment by prioritizing work and coordinating task/project schedules
  • Must embrace safety principles to include adhering to safe work practices and standards while performing daily tasks
  • Must be able to manage and decompose requirements in specific technical areas.Strong communications and ability to work in a team environment a must
  • Experience in one or more of the following technology areas: Avionics hardware systems, commercial and military data busses, software design, development and management, real-time systems, or system test and validation
  • Employee exercises a high degree of originality and sound judgment in formulating, evaluating, and correlating broad engineering research concepts, guiding the analysis of unique problems


Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $129,800.00/Yr. - USD $216,700.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
