Salary Range or Starting Hourly Rate: $93,000 - $150,000

Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Employee Relations Manager, supporting TOS II, at AEDC in Tullahoma, TN The Employee Relations Manager will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Open to internal and external candidates. The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work outside of normal work hours, on weekends, and/or holidays when workload requires it.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide advice and counsel to BNH managers and employees on all employee relation matters for our three operating locations (Tullahoma, TN; Mountain View, CA; and White Oak, MD). The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Employee Relations program; creating strategies designed to proactively identify and address workplace issues; promote proactive and positive employee relations practices across the organization to build relationships; drive engagement; foster an open, respectful, and communicative environment; minimize risks and ensure consistent and fair application of company policy and state and federal laws. This position reports to the Talent Management Director.

Job Duties:

    Investigate internal complaints of alleged discrimination and/or harassment; meets with persons involved in complaints in order to verify case information, summarizes findings and provides recommendations for corrective action if appropriate.
  • Conduct investigations, resolve complaints, and develop responses on employee concerns, and other sensitive and complex employee relations issues.
  • Prepare responses to EEOC, THRC and OFCCP charges of discrimination.
  • Provide key consultation, solutions, and support to managers and employees on issues arising in the workplace.
  • Consult with management and all levels of personnel on corrective actions, performance management and employee separation issues.
  • In conjunction with the Talent Management Director, develops guidelines for non-discriminatory employment practices and monitors their implementation and impact.
  • Compile and submit reports related to complaints, as required by management, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions and informal roundtable discussions on topics related to equal opportunity, non-discrimination, sexual harassment, and employee relations.
  • Manage the NAS Employee Survey Program
  • Develop, interpret, and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and work processes as it relates to HR Operations or Employee Relations.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Education or other related field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant and progressive experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and progressive and relevant experience can be substituted.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current security clearance and/or NACI
  • Previous experience investigating and resolving employee concerns with a union workforce
  • Knowledge of laws and regulatory requirements related to areas of responsibility such privacy of data, government reporting requirements and human resources program design and administration.
  • PHR or equivalent certification
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, employment law, DoD regulations and Human Resources administration
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience investigating and resolving employee concerns with a salaried workforce.
  • Ability to work within assigned teams with limited supervision, exercise independent judgement and decision making, take initiative to resolve issues and support team success across the company.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
