Data Scientist Internship for RIsk Intelligence Platform Job Location Easton, Maryland Position Type Full-Time/Regular Are you an amibitous undergrad, grad student or recent grad looking to further your knowledge of Data Science and gain valuable work experience? Qlarant offering an eight-week summer internship for a high achieving candidate with a grade point average of at least a 3.0. The internship is based in our Easton, Maryland headquarters. A well-qualified candidate could be home-based in Maryland. The selected candidate should plan to work 40 hours per week with a start date in June. The intern will work with our AI team engaged in the development of cutting edge products for the public and private sectors. The internship may include but is not limited to: Develop an understanding of the data relevant to the problem to be addressed. Web development using HTML and JavaScript. Utilize data wrangling techniques to work with data with the assistance of Data Scientists when needed. Assist the AI team in establishing deterministic and probabilistic linkages between structured and unstructured data sources. Develop ways to extract and summarize the sought information in the data using basic statistical, data mining and machine learning techniques. Required Skills Use basic machine learning and data mining techniques to understand the patterns in large volumes of data, identify relationships, correlate disparate datasets, detect data anomalies, and classify data sets. Assist the AI team to design and build algorithms and predictive models using techniques such as linear and logistic regression, support vector machines, ensemble models (random forest and/or gradient boosted trees), neural networks, and clustering techniques. Convert designs and specifications into computer code as assigned. Compiles code into programs and corrects errors. Analyzes code to find causes of errors and revises programs.
