Description

As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University is seeking an Archives Project Assistant who will promote Marian University's Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by being responsible for the processing, accessioning, management, preservation, and accessibility of the Marian University archives. The archives are located within Mother Theresa Hackelmeier Memorial Library. This role involves physical and digital archiving and organization, under the direction of the University Archivist. This is a temporary position, for May 2025 only.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • File archival documents in the appropriate locations.
  • Label archives boxes and replace damaged or missing shelf labels.
  • Enter archival records in ArchivesSpace, as directed by the University Archivist.
  • Process donations and de-accessions.

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree and experience working in archives.
  • Preferred/Additional Requirements:
  • Familiarity with Marian University.
  • Ability to lift and organize materials (up to 30 lbs.).
