Primary Function: To provide overall administrative oversight of the Pocono Campus Learning Center location including planning, implementing and evaluating appointment-based individual and walk-in tutorial services and contribute to the overall leadership of the college-wide Learning Center.

Responsibilities: (1) Oversight of Pocono Campus Learning Center (PCLC) operations: (a) plan and implement tutorial programming and academic coaching services at the PCLC; (b) assist in recruitment and retention of students in need of tutorial and academic coaching services; (c) responsible for overseeing the physical space of the PCLC. (2) Supervision of staff and student workers: (a) supervise the PCLC program manager; (b) in conjunction with the program manager, select, train, schedule, monitor and evaluate qualified tutors and academic coaches; (c) involve faculty members in recruitment, training and evaluation of tutors. (3) Administrative functions: (a) participate as an administrator working with the larger Learning Center team to effectively collaborate and communicate the NCC Learning Center mission, strategic plan and goals for students, faculty, and staff; (b) Assist the director with program-wide assessment including data collection, analysis, and reporting on students using Learning Center; with assessment and evaluation of overall departmental functions; and with implementation of new service objectives; (c) administer PCLC budget; (d) in the absence of the director is the administrator with full responsibility for the Learning Centers. (4) Other duties: (a) works with the director, other Learning Center staff, and academic affairs faculty and staff in planning, developing, and administering quality Learning Center services; (b) special projects as assigned.

Organizational Relationship: (1) responsible to the director, Learning Center; (2) coordinates with the executive dean at Pocono Campus, as on-site member of Academic Affairs Division; (3) coordinates work with all Learning Center staff at both campuses, Pocono faculty, and administrative teams; (4) participates in College committees.

Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) responsibilities of the position and special assignments have been completed satisfactorily, within the specified time frame, and at a level to ensure efficient functioning of the Learning Center; (2) effective, cooperative relationships exist with college students, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications: (1) Education: Master's degree in an academic field from a Councilfor HigherEducation Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor institution required. (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: (a) proven management and supervisory experience, with strong interpersonal skills; (b) knowledge of tutorial and instructional pedagogy; (c) proven ability to function effectively as a member of a team; (c) excellent customer service skills and ability to work with students, faculty, and staff; (d) excellent written and oral communication skills; (e) strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with the demonstrated competency to serve in an administrative capacity; (f) ability to analyze and manage a program budget; (g) high level of accuracy with details; (h) ability to use technology systems and tools to support Learning Center operations; (i) ability to adapt to changing educational environment; (j) working knowledge of basic program assessment methodology. (3) Experience: (a) Management and supervisory experience in an educational setting; (b) teaching and/or tutoring experience.
