Position Summary

The Cache Database Administrator, Sr. position is an expert-level technical position. This position provides technical analysis, configuration, maintenance, modification and monitoring of all Epic Cache databases. This position also supports internal application development solutions, focusing on process automation and data optimization. This position supports best practices and requirements for data storage, database architecture, tuning, maintenance and reporting, ensuring hardware/software compatibility. This position is a technical leader for the Cache Administration team. This individual leads and supports personnel in determining databases are available, backed up regularly, and can be restored. Participates in, and evaluates installations, tests, and implementations of system hardware, software, manufacturer's maintenance releases and utilities. Analyzes system performance to ensure it is meeting availability and performance objectives. Evaluates and Recommends team personnel in resolution of hardware and operating system, and application software problems. Tasks team personnel to resolve database related issues. Develops and maintains documentation on design specifications and system/software development life cycle for development projects.

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree required; preferably in business, healthcare, or Information Technology
  • Certified in Cache' System Management Technical certification (i.e. MCDBA, MCSE, OCP, OCM, MCPD, etc.) or comparable experience required
  • Minimum seven (7) years experience in database administration, implementing, operating, maintaining or using (as a "super user") systems in an Information Technology or health care setting
  • Previous installation experience with healthcare systems, databases, and interfaces in hospitals and/or clinic settings or with a healthcare system vendor preferred
  • Leadership experience, including interviewing and hiring, decision-making, staff mentoring, staff development and peer-review or evaluation, preferred
  • Additional specific recent relevant Information Technology or healthcare experience may be substituted for education
  • Current Washington state driver's license and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MultiCare Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $119,912.00 - $165,589.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
