Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, serve as Artist Services Manager to act as primary liaison and artist services contact; oversee student Artist Services team, serve as onsite lead for Mondavi Center artists before during and after performances; accompany artists to various engagements; build, coordinate, disseminate artist itinerary, oversee artist merchandise sales and reconciliation, execute artist services budget for hospitality supplies, maintain inventory. Candidate will hire, train and supervise student artist services staff, identify and coordinate with suppliers, caterers and vendors, coordinate communication with artist representatives and lodging and transportation vendors, arrange artist transportation and hotel when necessary, arrange hospitality as required by contract; interpreting and implementing artist contracts and riders; and overseeing the processing of travel and entertainment expenses and charges related to the artist liaison duties.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

* Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
* Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
* At least two years of demonstrated experience in event management, catering, and/or hospitality.
* Experience recruiting, training, managing, and leading a diverse work force of students and/or volunteers.
* Ability to frequently move about the performance and administrative buildings to accommodate dynamic artist needs.
* Customer service skills to manage and respond to diverse customer service activities, including unanticipated service needs and/or emergencies.
* Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with various constituencies from diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives in a professional and discreet manner.
* Time management skills to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines; to establish goals and workload priorities; and to work under pressure of deadlines in a demanding environment.
* Writing skills to utilize Microsoft Office Suite to prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, policies and procedures, agreements, and training documents, spreadsheets.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience interpreting and executing artist riders including hospitality, transportation, and lodging within a fine-arts and/or event management environment within a professional or educational setting.
* Experience with the UC Davis financial, human resources, and travel systems.
* Knowledge and understanding of ADA accommodations and regulations.

Work Environment

* UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
