Overview

Coordinates, monitors, administers, and services technical environments. Completes implementations, carries out integration activities, and provides operational support for technical environments. Perform basic/routine tasks with narrow scope.

Responsibilities

Operational

  • Identify, create, adhere to, and update applicable standards and procedures.
  • Completely perform operational activities; monitors activities/equipment/systems Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, escalate and/or resolve technical problems.
  • Determine scope and resources necessary, and coordinate efforts across functional teams for problem resolution.
  • Research new technologies within existing infrastructure to optimize operational processes.

System Availability

  • Conduct comprehensive monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and analysis of systems/applications
  • Ensure optimal performance by monitoring operational systems
  • Actively participate in establishing and testing business recovery procedures, standards, and policies
  • Perform routine test, configuration, environment, and preventive maintenance activities
  • Ensure optimal availability and performance through systematic validation
  • Document routine and complex problems and resolutions in clear and organized technical detail including problem, cause, and solution
  • Perform trend analysis and capacity studies

Technical Administration

  • Execute Ticket/Change requests from Service Now
  • Familiar with the following monitoring applications:
    • Omegamon, TSO, ISPF, ESP (workload manager), Bluezone, HPE- Citirix applications, and Moogsoft
  • Identify and create applicable clear and understandable standards and procedures within Sharepoint.
  • Actively participate on project teams in the implementation of new or enhanced services
  • Prepare and present complete regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports.

Communication

  • Present consistent, concise, relevant, reliable, and timely information to all appropriate internal and external audiences/stakeholders through a variety of media; being able to escalate incidents as they arise to Major Incidents Management.
  • Ensures accuracy of information to enable effective business decisions.
  • Frame message in line with audience experience, background, and expectations; uses terms, examples, and analogies that are meaningful to the audience.
  • Seek input from audience to ensure message was accurately interpreted; modify communication if needed

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in computer science, IT, or related field strongly preferred
  • Technical certifications in cloud, mainframe, CompTIA , and/or CompTIA security strongly preferred
  • Ability to document and apply policies, standards and procedures
  • Exposure to validating system availability and performance
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems, terminal knowledge and IT terminology
  • Familiarity with technical inter-relationships between software/hardware and desktop/LAN/Host systems
  • Familiarity with MVS and JES2 commands
  • Basic skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Basic skill in producing desired results and achieving goals and objectives
  • Basic skill supporting a global 24/7, member/customer focused services operation
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills

Hours: 6:00PM - 6:00AM overnight shift schedule.
Week 1: Monday and Tuesday. Off Wednesday & Thursday. Work: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Week 2: Off Monday and Tuesday. Work: Wed & Thursday. Off: Friday, Sat, and Sunday.

Holidays and Weekends required
