Summary:


MRO Ladson is an aerospace bearing repair station. The machining technician will report directly to the Channel Manager. In this position you will be expected to perform the operation and setup of multiple machines according to quality specifications to ensure that product conforms to specified finish dimensions. We are seeking individuals with great attention to detail and above average problem solving skills. We are looking to hire individuals who have the aptitude to work independently while supporting departmental performance goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Sets up machine, including tool changes, insert changes, and geometry according to instructions, specifications, and SOPs.


  • Selects, places and secures tooling in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches.


  • Sets gages to measure OD, ID, 3pt race, and offset.


  • Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines


  • Utilizes micrometers, calipers, and other measurement gauges


  • Determines whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.


  • Signs off paperwork to maintain job accuracy and consistency


  • Must be able to learn and operate multiple machines


  • Troubleshooting and problem solving


  • Capable of making adjustments to tool wears


  • Understands and can implement 5S in area


  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Follows all plant safety regulations




Requirements:



  • Must have HS diploma or GED


  • Must be able to read and write English


  • Must pass a near vision test and color perception test




Working Conditions:



  • Works in a climate controlled environment. There will be periods of long standing or sitting, lifting of 50lbs on a regular basis, bending, and eye fatigue


  • Works around hazardous chemicals. Personal protective equipment is required
