Pay



  • Bi-weekly Pay

Shifts



  • Orientation Week: provided prior to start date
  • Schedule: 2-2-2 schedule
  • 12-hour shift

    • Day Shift: 5:45AM to 6:00PM

Job Summary

Our Machine Operator Shift Lead is responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment, ensuring that products are produced in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. A Machine Operator Shift Lead has experience working in a food manufacturing environment and a commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities



  • Responsible for supporting the Supervisor in running an efficient and success shift
  • Responsible for pre-shift meetings to the team to communicate the goals and expectations for the shift
  • Complete shift notes and end of shift reports
  • Work with Maintenance to resolve any issues the team is having
  • Foster development of the Leads and working together as a team
  • Complete pass downs to next shift and assist the team in setting the next shift up for success
  • Ensure all startups and changeovers checks for their area are completed
  • Help train team members; primary responsibility for training is with each area Line Lead
  • Cover breaks for team members if necessary and works with the Supervisor to ensure breaks are taken and done according to policy.
  • Use the radio to communicate to their team and help keep all teams focused
  • Ensure the team does Housekeeping throughout the shift and completes their required tasks as defined by the MSS
  • Responsible for making sure team members are following the GMP policies and wearing proper PPE.
  • Responsible for coordinating shut down / start up / cleans in a safe and controlled manner. If a wet clean, ensuring all electronics and motors are wrapped such that there is no damage to any equipment that cannot get wet
  • Operate and troubleshoot all equipment in accordance with the documented procedures to ensure that products are produced in accordance with production schedules and quality standards.
  • Follow all SOP's and SSOPs to keep consistent product quality.
  • Utilize productivity software to ensure accurate and timely production tracking. Monitor and report updates for the production process to identify and correct issues that may affect product quality or consistency.
  • Foster continuous improvement ideas as a part of every operation and supports implementation throughout the plant.
  • Maintain effective communication to all team members and Supervision.
  • Minimize and manage all waste points throughout the process
  • Assist in the development and measuring of productivity in all areas of the operation.
  • Coordinate and confer with maintenance personnel on equipment repair to ensure continuous operation.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community to present a professional image of the company.
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner



Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating production equipment in a food manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for operating production equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and equipment monitoring.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift 45 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to bend, twist and stand on your feet for an entire shift.
  • Exposed to food production and warehouse environments which may involve noise and fluctuating temperatures
  • Must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
  • Team building, decision making and people management skills
  • Proven ability to build strong teams and interact at all levels of the plant, including front line employees.
  • Demonstrates a passion for learning and a willingness to build new skills. Recognizes opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies.
