We proudly serve as the exclusive maintenance provider for ConocoPhillips' fleet of three modern DHC-8-400 (Q400) aircraft. COMPENSATION
- Starting Pay: Begins at $34.00 per hour, with increases based on your experience.
- Sign-On Bonus: A one-time payment of $10,000 will be provided.
- Retention Bonus: Earn an additional $7,500 after 12 months of successful employment.
AIRCRAFT MECHANIC - POSITION SUMMARY As an Aircraft Mechanic at NAMS, you will be responsible for performing all assigned maintenance tasks with precision and in strict accordance with company and customer maintenance manuals, manufacturer guidelines, Service Bulletins, company and customer policies, and all applicable FAA regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct periodic aircraft overnight checks, thorough service checks, efficient aircraft line maintenance, servicing, and reliable dispatch procedures.
- Perform detailed overhaul, precise repairs, careful disassembly, accurate assembly, and general maintenance on aircraft and their critical components.
- Proactively notify the General Manager and/or the designated Required Inspection Item (RII) Mechanic whenever an inspection is mandated before the completion of any assigned task.
- Take ownership and accountability by signing for all work accomplished on both company and customer aircraft and their respective components.
- Fulfill the responsibilities of a Flight Mechanic when your schedule requires it.
- Undertake other duties as assigned to support the overall maintenance operations.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- Must possess a valid FAA Airman Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.
- A moderate level of reasoning, mathematical proficiency, and language comprehension skills are necessary for this role (equivalent to high school level).
- Language Skills:
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
- Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and interact professionally with customers are essential.
- Computer Skills:
- Must possess a working knowledge of basic computer operations and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to accurately interpret a variety of instructions, whether provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, a comprehensive 5-year background check, a thorough 10-year criminal history check, and a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Threat Assessment.
- Must possess a valid U.S. Passport or be able to obtain one within the first 6 months of employment.
- Travel:
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This role is classified as "heavy" in terms of physical exertion. You should be able to meet the following physical requirements:
- Lifting/Carrying: Occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 70 pounds. The frequency of these tasks will vary depending on the project.
- Climbing: Ability to safely climb and stand on ladders for extended periods, up to 2 hours at a time, while performing aircraft maintenance.
- Reaching: Full range of motion in your arms and shoulders may be required to effectively perform the essential functions of this position.
- Standing/Walking: Expect to spend approximately 75% of your workday standing and walking on concrete floors within the hangar and paved ramp areas. These surfaces may occasionally be wet or icy.
- Pushing/Pulling: Ability to push and pull up to 100 pounds when moving tools and equipment.
- Crawling: Moderate amount of crawling may be required to access certain aircraft areas.
- Repetitive Bending/Twisting: Occasional bending and twisting movements may be necessary.
- Talking: Constant communication with customers and colleagues is required throughout the day.
- Vision: Good visual acuity is essential for performing all maintenance tasks accurately and safely.
- Hearing: Good hearing is required for effective and safe communication in a potentially noisy environment.
- Environmental Conditions: You may be exposed to high noise levels, moving aircraft and equipment, dirt, dust, fumes, heat, cold, hazardous materials, exhaust fumes, and may be required to work in confined spaces for extended periods and outdoors in harsh winter conditions for up to 2 hours at a time. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, may be necessary.
