General Summary of Position

Job Summary:

MedStar Health is looking for a Supervisor of Behavioral Health to join our team at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital.

As a Supervisor of Behavioral Health, you will supervise the delivery of adult, family treatment services, and child and adolescent, as needed by facility in hospital-based service. Performs diversified duties in support of clinical operations as needed.

Primary Duties:

  • Assists in selecting, training, orienting, and assigning department staff. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and conducts performance management planning. Initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions. Maintains ongoing communication with office staff to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information.

  • Assists in the development and recommendation of department operating budget and ensures that the department operates within the budget.

  • Completes all documentation relevant to activities. Supervises the maintenance and preparation of records, files, and other documents. Complies with and ensures adherence to all documentation standards. Complies with all data collection, entry, and reporting requirements.

  • Coordinates the delivery of clinical services, including intakes, assessments, referrals, and crisis intervention. Serves as liaison to referral sources, outside agencies, third-party payors, and other interested parties as appropriate and within limits of confidentiality.

  • Organizes services and work assignments for the provision of outpatient programming. Assists in the planning and development of services. Monitors clinical staff's productivity and ensures that staff maintain high productivity

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or related field.

  • 5-7 years' experience as a psychotherapist working in an accredited mental health facility.

  • 2 years clinical experience working with adults.

  • 2 years' experience working with children, adolescents, and families.

  • 2 years' experience in mental health administration and clinical supervision.

  • 1-2 years' Experience administering an adult program.

  • 1 year experience administering a program for children and adolescents.

  • Licensed as LCSW-C, Ph.D., or LCPC.

This position has a hiring range of $72,758 - $130,041
