Visit Nature.com and follow @Nature / @NaturePortfolio About the Role We are seeking a Deputy Editor with a strong background in research and editorial experience to join Communications AI & Computing - a new multidisciplinary, open-access journal in the Nature Portfolio. This new launch will publish research spanning the broad landscape of computational science, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and their applications in addressing complex scientific and societal challenges, encompassing both fundamental and applied research, from the development of algorithms, tools, and frameworks that advance scientific discovery to methodologies that utilise computational approaches to generate insights and solve real-world problems. The journal will initially be run jointly with Nature Communications, with a combined internal team and a joint Chief Editor, but with a separate Editorial Board. Communications AI & Computing complements our other Nature Portfolio open access titles, such as Nature Communications, the other Communications series journals, Scientific Reports, as well as the suite of NPJs. The Deputy Editor at Communications AI & Computing will be responsible for leading the journal's editorial strategy, liaising closely with the Chief Editor for building and managing a diverse and efficient Editorial Board, and for managing part of the team of internal editors. Key responsibilities of the Deputy Editor include support of launch activities, outreach to relevant communities, and ensuring the Editorial Board Members cover the full breadth of subject areas and are engaged. US Annualized Base Salary Range: $110,000 - 125,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity. The US salary range does not align with the salary ranges in other countries when converted to the currency of that country.
