Description The Director of Learning and Development is a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a world-class learning culture that accelerates employee growth, leadership development and organizational performance. This role aligns learning strategies with the credit union's mission, vision, values and business objectives, ensuring that our workforce is fully equipped to meet the evolving needs of our members and communities. The Director builds and fosters collaborative relationships with all departments within the organization to constantly review effectiveness of learning methods. Requirements Major Duties and Responsibilities Learning and Development Strategy
- Lead the creation and execution of a comprehensive, future-forward learning and development strategy for all levels of the organization.
- Align learning initiatives with the credit union's strategic goals, employee engagement efforts, and diversity, equity and inclusion priorities.
- Champion a continuous learning culture that fosters innovation, agility, and high performance.
Program Development and Delivery
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of blended learning programs (virtual, in-person, on-demand) across technical, leadership, compliance and professional skill areas.
- Launch and enhance leadership development pipelines, succession planning programs, and high-potential employee initiatives.
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMESs) and external vendors to ensure content relevance, quality, and scalability.
Talent Development and Performance
- Manage the credit union's performance management processes, coaching culture initiatives and individual development planning.
- Integrate learning solutions with employee lifecycle events (e.g. onboarding, promotions, transitions).
- Measure and report on learning outcomes, engagement, and business impact using key metrics and analytics.
Team Leadership and Collaborations
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing learning and development team.
- Collaborate closely with crow-functional teams (including but not limited to Enterprise Risk Management, HR, Operations, Member Experience, Product, etc.) to ensure a seamless employee experience.
- Serve as an advisory to senior leadership on organizational learning, talent development, and change management strategies.
Innovation and Best Practices
- Stay ahead of trends in adult learning, technology, behavioral science, and workforce development.
- Evaluation and deploy learning technologies, including LMS, microlearning platforms, and AI-drive tools, to enhance accessibility and personalization.
Other Duties
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control

Job Requirements Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses
- Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in Learning and Development leadership, preferably in financial services or highly regulated industries
- Proven track record of building and scaling learning programs in a mid-to-large organization.
- Expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, leadership development, and talent management.
- Strong knowledge of learning technology.
- Exceptional leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Certifications such as CPTD (Certified Professional in Talent Development) or SHRM-SCP are a plus.
- Deep alignment with credit union values of service, integrity, collaboration and community impact.
Demonstrated Knowledge
- Knowledge of Blaze policies, procedures, and products core banking and related systems
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and on-line and in-person training methods
- Ability to utilize computers, audio visual equipment with a degree of complexity
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Captivate, Zoom, etc.
- Knowledge of learning management or other knowledge base software
Communication Skills Ability to lead and/or be the subject matter expert for member/staff processes; exert regional influence or corporate knowledge sharing Physical Requirements Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal staff and public on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations. The salary range for this position is: $103,000 - $140,000. This range reflects the base salary for this position.
