Indirect Lending Representative
The Indirect Lending Representative serves as a key liaison between the Credit Union and its network of auto dealerships. This role involves working directly with dealer staff-including Finance Managers, Sales Managers, and Administrative personnel-to support and strengthen OnPath's lending relationships. The Indirect Lending Representative is responsible for the daily monitoring of auto loan performance through analysis of data and reports. Provides timely reporting and insights along with actionable recommendations to management. Additionally, the role includes educating dealers on current policies, procedures, and updates to programs or pricing structures. The Indirect Lending Representative also represents OnPath at community events to promote and support the Credit Union's presence.
Essential Duties:


  • Serves as a Credit Union ambassador and is the main liaison with indirect dealer partners to create long term profitable partnerships. Actively promotes the benefits of OnPath Credit Union's indirect lending program and seeks out additional business opportunities. Creates contests (with approval), dealer events and goals to generate excitement and drive additional quality business to the Credit Union. This is an active face to face and over the phone marketing and sales role.
  • Provides member service to new indirect accounts. Contacts new members by phone to welcome them to OnPath, cross sells additional products and services that meet member's needs. Outbound service calls to members that are part of ongoing Lending campaigns and solicit new business by phone.
  • Provides Marketing reports to the Lending team. Identifies threats and opportunities based on competitor's programs and industry changes. Monitors and provides periodic (Daily, weekly, Monthly) reports in relation to indirect production including application flow and funding projections. Will also monitor and provide reporting regarding dealership delinquency and charge off ratios.
  • Acts as a support role for auto loans including, but not limited to, auto loan processing, funding and assisting dealers as needed on Saturdays.
  • Acts as a liaison and resource for branch questions regarding lending including providing ad hoc training specific to loan processing and education. Provides Lending communications via Monthly Bulletin and monthly branch visits and through additional communication channels to provide current accurate information to all impacted team members. Find ways to generate excitement and participation around loan products and promotions.
  • Contacts Finance Managers to communicates credit decisions or fund delay needs. Help resolve charge backs, buy backs and refund cancellations. Member interaction may be needed to resolve disputes that arise between the dealership and the member and/or OnPath. Advocate for OnPath in situations involving dealership non-compliance or concerns, including instances of potential misrepresentation such as inaccurate vehicle details, incomplete or altered documentation, or transactions involving unauthorized third parties. Work to provide resolutions in the case of first payment defaults and title delays. Holds the dealerships accountable to the terms of the dealer agreement.
  • Works directly with the Lending Underwriters and Processors to ensure timely funding including acting as a support role for indirect loan processing as needed. Seeks to understand all policies and procedures in order to accurately and effectively communicate the needs of all parties to ensure extreme satisfaction.
  • Acts as a resource specific to indirect lending, steps in to help resolve disputes between branch team members and indirect dealerships. Help develop respectful relationships with local branches and dealership partners, build relationships between Underwriting and dealerships by facilitating in person visits with dealerships.
  • Outbound Dealer marketing calls including identifying and soliciting new dealer relationships, calling on approved loan applications with the intent of capturing that business and working closing with the Indirect Marketing Representative to cover weekly and monthly check in calls to dealerships. Providing feedback from these check ins and logging which applications we did not receive and why to help better hone our programs for optimum performance.
  • Participates in ongoing training, including fair lending laws, and all consumer lending compliance regulations. Has a proactive approach to personal development in soft skills including empathy, listening, negotiating, sales and expanding knowledge within the lending and financial fields.
  • Works with the loan team (Direct and Indirect) as needed to ensure that member service is provided and that loan team goals are being met. This may include backing up other roles such as Lending call queue and indirect loan processing.
  • Ensures all lending practices meet regulatory standards.


Experience:


  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience in a financial institution required.
  • Detailed knowledge of automotive financing required.
  • 2+ years' indirect dealer experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management and loan policies and procedures.


Skills:


  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (ability to turn data into a graph)
  • Proficiencies in sales techniques
  • Can be accountable for the completion of assigned tasks and projects with supervision
