GENERAL PURPOSE

As a key member of the plant leadership team, the Plant Controller plays a strategic role in driving operational and financial performance. This position is not only accountable for ensuring that spending, inventory, and asset management goals are met - it is also focused on partnering with cross-functional leaders to uncover opportunities, influence decisions, and implement initiatives that improve profitability, efficiency, and growth.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Act as a proactive business partner to Plant Management, Operations, and Supply Chain to influence decision-making and drive results.
  • Translate financial insights into clear, actionable recommendations for operational leaders.
  • Lead and support initiatives to improve plant performance, efficiency, and cost structure.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial and operational reports, offering insight into variances, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes for respective plants, ensuring alignment with broader Audio Visual Division strategy.
  • Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and strategic insights to support plant transformation initiatives, including automation, footprint optimization, outsourcing, or capacity expansion projects.
  • Own and lead the plant's cost accounting function, including cost estimates, production variances, and standard rate reviews.
  • Provide hands-on tactical and strategic support to the Manufacturing Team via collaboration with department Supervisors and Managers.
  • Provide strategic analysis of manufacturing cost drivers that drive operational efficiencies and reduce production costs
  • Assist Corporate Finance Team with month-end close.
  • Deliver financial input into capital investment proposals and assist in ROI evaluation and prioritization.
  • Improve and standardize internal processes related to inventory accuracy, costing cycles, and plant financial controls.
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts by identifying financial levers for performance gains.
  • Assist in year-end financial audits and take the financial lead for annual physical inventory counts.
  • Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Proven track record of influencing cross-functional teams and driving financial and operational outcomes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications (especially Excel) and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Demonstrated ability to be customer focused and responsive to questions and needs in a deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional initiatives and/or continuous improvement efforts.
  • Must possess a high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Applied Mathematics, or related field, with at least five (5) years of progressing accounting (GL, reporting, cost) experience in a manufacturing/assembly/ distribution environment; or combination of relevant education and experience

Special Job Requirements:

  • Requires frequent availability and communication during non-standard business hours to communicate with global team members
  • Must be available for extended, varied work hours based on business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA
  • SAP experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in support of Lean Manufacturing

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required (for the majority of the working day) to sit and make coordinated movements of the fingers for data entry on a keyboard.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, pull/push up to 50 pounds
  • General office environment
  • Up to 10% long-distance or air travel as needed - may include international travel
