About the Role:

The Individual Investor team seeks an enthusiastic, results-driven Associate Product Manager to help drive the success of Morningstar.com. As an Associate Product Manager, you will support the product strategy, roadmap and development lifecycle for Morningstar's retail website. In addition, you will serve as a product expert to translate market trends, customer needs, competitive analysis into innovative deliverables that solve the business needs and objectives of our customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience working, supporting or implementing various financial services applications and/or tools as an associate product manager, project manager or business/systems analyst in the global asset and wealth management industry. Familiarity with various financial instruments, portfolio and performance analysis would be an asset. The candidate should be comfortable with technology, can work both independently and in a highly collaborative setting to drive deliveries, develop strong partnerships and alignment with internal teams within the organization. As an Associate Product Manager, you will work with a cross-functional team of designers, developers, and quality assurance analysts to execute a portfolio of projects related to helping individuals find, evaluate and monitor investment ideas. This role will be focused on using Morningstar's investment philosophy, data, IP, SMEs, tools and investment services to develop innovative solutions and modern experiences to help empower individual investors.

This position is based in our Chicago office. We follow a hybrid policy of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote work.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and understand our customers' needs that come in from support tickets and feedback, along with competitive analysis, translating these to product enhancements.
  • Breakdown and analyze complex investment research workflows and systems, identify inefficiencies/areas for improvement, and define solutions to improve the experience.
  • Work with internal teams such as Editorial, Marketing, Technology, Legal and Compliance to review requested changes to Morningstar.com.
  • Track key performance indicators and measurements of product success as it relates to constantly innovating on the core platform.
  • Develop product requirements that are refined and validated with extensive customer research and stakeholder feedback.
  • Understand both business and technology requirements, service as a conduit between stakeholders, support, marketing, compliance, design, and technology teams.
  • Oversee the development and roll-out of new product enhancements and features and work with marketing and content strategy to communicate these new items.
  • Assist with user testing activities to help vet and develop new functionality and user experiences.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience required, with demonstrated experience as a business analyst, project manager, associate product manager/owner, or engineer.
  • Knowledge and interest in investing and the financial markets.
  • Willingness to juggle multiple different responsibilities and stakeholders to get things done (work with internal stakeholders and tech members on design & implementation, with clients on gathering their needs, and doing what it takes "roll up sleeve" to get innovative solutions to market).
  • Interest in and focus on building innovative financial products that users love.
  • Excellent business judgment; analytical, planning, and decision-making skills; in addition to exemplary communication and interpersonal skills overall.
  • Strong customer-centric focus.
  • Ability to work well across distributed teams and influence the work of others.
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required.

Base Salary Compensation Range

$65,591.00 - 111,500.00 USD Annual

Total Cash Compensation Range

$72,150.00 - 122,650.00 USD Annual
