The Medical Technologist II Cytology Supervisor supervises Cytotechnologists I, Cytotechnologists II and Cytoprep-technicians & performing a variety of tests of a moderately or highly complex nature. In this capacity, s/he assures efficient, accurate and timely reporting of results of tests and examinations. The Medical Technologist II Cytology Supervisor also performs routine complex tests which involve delicate & exacting steps requiring measured judgment as to the appropriate procedures to be employed. Such testing may be performed by manual methods involving technical interpretation & by automated analyzers involving maintenance and troubleshooting. S/he may also assist with the instructing of laboratory personnel, & laboratory & medical students. The Medical Technologist II Cytology Supervisor also is responsible for all quality control/quality assurance activities in Cytology, preventative maintenance, monitoring of supplies, implementation of testing brought into the Cytology lab & any other duties assigned by the Anatomic Pathology Manager. Minimum Qualifications Required: 1. High school graduation or equivalent. 2. Meets basic standards and qualifications for laboratory testing for general supervisory personnel under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Subpart M, Section 493.1461.
