JACKSON ELECTRIC MEMBERSHIP CORPORATION ? This posting is to fill up to two internships I.POSITION OBJECTIVES To support the Information Technology department to ensure tasks are completed as needed. To provide helpdesk and end user support to internal customers as needed. To work on projects as directed that may include equipment audits, job shadowing, documentation of processes or procedures. II. POSITION REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Must be enrolled in an accredited school, pursuing either an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems or related field. EXPEREINCE: Experience with computer hardware systems and software applications similar to those at Jackson EMC is preferred. KNOWLEDGE: Must possess a solid basic working knowledge of computer systems and may include end user tools, system terminology, and computer hardware knowledge. SKILLS: Must have the ability to accomplish the following: master end user software applications, navigation of operating systems, installation and or repair of computing hardware, effective communication and ability to follow instructions/directions. III. RELATIONSHIPS Directs: None Internal: Shall foster the development of those supportive relationships essential to the fulfilling of the functions of this position, achieving the results expected and encouraging throughout the organization the concepts of teamwork and cooperative spirit. External: Shall maintain supportive relationships with member consumers, the general public and other contacts to assure that satisfactory results are achieved. Physical activity of the position: Hearing, talking, repetitive motions. Physical requirements: Sedentary work. Visual Acuity: Machine operator (including inspections). Conditions: Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES To fulfill the objectives of the position the employee so designated shall have full and complete authority to carry out the responsibilities assigned to this position, making all decisions necessary within the limits of approved budgets, policies, and system practices. Essential functions of the job: 1. Support the Information Technology department as needed. 2. Assist in gathering data as instructed. 3. Assist in hardware/software inventory audits as instructed to ensure compliance with corporate standards and licensing. 4. Coordinate, schedule, and assist in equipment installation as instructed. 5. Participate in special projects as instructed. 6. Provide necessary assistance to internal customers 7. Be familiar with and follow the best safety practices set forth in the Cooperative's Safety Manual. 8. Attend job training and safety meetings as required or directed. 9.
