Job Description Summary

Assist the Operations Manager with overseeing venue operations, managing the facility and inventory, and maintaining a high level of customer service for clients.

*This is a part-time position averaging 15-20 hours per week. Working hours will vary depending on scheduled events at The Barn.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for providing exceptional service to all guests in a friendly, efficient manner.

  • Review and implement requirements outlined in the Banquet Event Order (BEO) forms.

  • Assist with the physical set-up and break-down of event facilities, as needed (lifting, moving, and arranging tables, chairs, furniture etc.).

  • Store equipment and materials neatly.

  • Refresh function areas during functions: tidy up rooms, restock, and tidy restrooms.

  • Clean and mop all rooms of the facility, as needed.

  • Empty trash from all function areas, as needed.

  • Assist with vendor and consultant relationships.

  • Assist with monitoring planned vendor deliveries.

  • Assist with oversight of vendor and guest compliance with policies.

  • Inspect and report all maintenance issues.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Responsible and Dependable.

  • Previous experience in banquet set-up is a plus.

  • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.

  • Enthusiasm is a definite must-have.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language (English) used in the workplace.

  • Work schedule varies and may include covering shifts - AM/PM, weekdays, evenings, holidays and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods.

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to walk, bend, climb, kneel, and extend reach.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
