Compensation Grade: P23Compensation Details: Minimum: $86,019.00 - Maximum: $86,019.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) CCH - Division of EpidemiologyJob Description: Responsibilities The Program Research Specialist III will work within the Bureau of Surveillance and Data Systems (BSDS) New York State Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) Program. This position will refine the metrics necessary to evaluate NYSIIS as per the Immunization Information Systems (IIS) functional standards as defined by the CDC. The incumbent will contact providers to provide technical assistance and guidance in support of the data quality implementation plan developed and work on implementation. The incumbent will work with Information Technology Services and the IIS vender to conduct User Acceptance Testing of the consumer access portal. Additionally, the incumbent will provide quarterly data extracts from NYSIIS to support the National Immunization Survey (NIS). Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of research experience in the collection and analysis of data; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with large statewide administrative relational databases such as New York State Immunization Information System or another related system, fluency with statistical software such as SAS/SQL, public health experience, familiarity with HL7 messaging, demonstrated ability to effectively work independently as well as part of a team and excellent communication skills. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.
