The NEPA Team is seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer on at our Scranton, Pennsylvania location.

Summary:

Responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures, equipment, and tools involved in the manufacturing process. Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production.

Essential Duties:

Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
• Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
• Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
• Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
• Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
• Confers with vendors in order to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts.
• Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for hot forging and CNC machining of metal components.
• Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and process flow to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, root causes, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams (engineering, quality, maintenance, and production) to support continuous improvement activities.
• Monitor and maintain library of drawings including tooling drawings, machine drawings, and process drawings and instructions detailing the manufacturing process.
• Support the introduction of new products from prototype through full-scale production.
• Specify and procure manufacturing equipment, tooling, and equipment layouts.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Engineering or other Engineering related degree
• 5-7 years' experience
• OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education & Experience
• Proficient in CAD Software, Autocad experience is required, Solidwork is desirable.
• Experience with hot forgin and CNC machining
• Knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and dimensional inspection techniques.
• Experience with forge tooling design and CNC machining work holding is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and project management skills.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

Travel Requirements:

• Less than 25% travel likely.
