We have an opening for a Manager, Design.

The Manager, Design is responsible for implementing and maintaining visual brand identity across print and digital assets. This role will design and produce materials for impactful external and internal communications for business development/marketing and recruiting purposes, among others, as well as assist the Director, Design in overseeing special projects and providing guidance to design team members.

In this capacity, the Manager, Design will:

  • Implements and maintains Paul Hastings' visual brand identity;
  • Creates brand-consistent materials across digital and print, including website and intranet, publications, invitations and other event collateral, client-facing and internal presentations, announcements, ads, videos, recruiting materials; and other Paul Hastings-branded materials;
  • Creates, maintains and communicates brand guidelines for firmwide use;
  • Works closely with editors, illustrators, photographers, printers, freelancers and other resources;
  • Assists the design director in overseeing the work and performance of the design team, including managing workflow and providing feedback;
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others;
  • Manages firm resources responsibly; and
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Proficiencies:

  • Strong typographic and layout skills; illustration, infographic design and animation/visual effects knowledge;
  • Complete proficiency in the Adobe design apps, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Dreamweaver, HTML coding, video editing and animation experience are a plus;
  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (with great proficiency in PowerPoint and Word);
  • Ability to learn new software/platforms and help train others in their use;
  • Significant experience managing full cycle of print production;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects (each with specific audiences and set of objectives) simultaneously and in an organized and timely manner; and scrutinize work with tremendous attention to detail; and
  • Communicates effectively and respectfully with all internal and external clients and vendors.

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree required; Emphasis in graphic design and/or marketing preferred;
  • At least 8 years working as a designer;
  • At least 2 years in a senior role; and
  • Experience in a professional services or legal environment (preferred).

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $133,400 and a maximum of $185,000 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
