Job Summary

Do you love working with kids, being creative, and being part of a fun, high-energy team? Join us at Lucketts Community Center's CASA Academy! With the direction of the CASA Academy Supervisor, you will assist in organizing and facilitating engaging activities for children in elementary school, including thrilling indoor and outdoor games, interactive arts and crafts, themed projects, snack periods, and academic support. You will actively participate, ensuring that each child feels secure, encouraged, and prepared to enjoy themselves. We're looking for someone who can jump in and help with everything from setting up activity spaces and prepping snacks to keeping supplies organized and clean. You'll also help with daily health checks, guide positive behavior, and keep an eye on safety inside and out. An additional benefit: You will have the opportunity to assist in organizing and taking part in remarkable family engagement events and community celebrations that unite everyone! We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
* Lucketts Community Center, Leesburg, VA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Manages children's behavior, communication, and engagement in program activities; ensures adherence to staff-to-student ratios; and follows the prescribed policies and procedures for supervision, interactions, and disciplinary actions.
* Provides support, motivation, and education to children.
* Conducts daily health assessments as children arrive each day; cleans and sanitizes tabletops and toys in accordance with established protocols; prepares snacks; verifies that meal supplies are sanitized; and manages accidents following prescribed procedures.
* Establishes communication with parents.
* May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the role and departmental assignment.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; six (6) months of program experience with children.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Understanding of childcare and programming for school-aged children.
* Understanding the strategies, methodologies, and approaches for educating young individuals.
* Knowledge of practices of recreation scheduling and operation.
* Proficiency in teaching activities to a varied youth demographic.
* Bilingual abilities preferred.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo pre-employment criminal background and fingerprinting checks. Before employment, individuals must have First Aid (Infant through Adult) and CPR certifications, or obtain them within 30 days of starting their job. Pass TB screening questions prior to hire and every two years thereafter. A sworn disclosure statement or affirmation must be completed, revealing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges upon employment and every 5 years subsequently.
