This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of Retirement Sales Consultants, Retirement Sales Associates, Customer Experience Strategists, and Investments Sales Analysts in the Large, Mega, and Not-for-Profit Market segments. Provides guidance and training to all direct reports within company policies and recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.

What you will do:

  • 1-Manage the Retirement Sales Consultants, providing coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, hiring/firing.
  • Act as a point of escalation for non-standard requests and issues as they may arise.
  • 2-Manage the Customer Experience Strategists, providing coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, hiring/firing.
  • Act as a point of escalation for meeting conflicts and opportunity prioritization.
  • 3-Oversee the team's effort in support of all proposals including: RFI s, RFP s, and pricing requests.
  • Ensure team is managing proposals through the sales process which entails but is not limited to the following: Understanding the opportunity as it relates to Empower's strategic business model and articulating it to the organization.
  • 4-Oversee the team's effort in support of all post-proposal meeting activity including finalist meetings, site visits, and written follow-up.
  • Ensure team is effectively briefing and preparing colleagues who participate in sales pursuits so that their meeting dialogues are tailored to the individual opportunity, prospect, and intermediaries.
  • Critical team responsibilities include meeting strategy documents, team preparation sessions, and timely proactive follow-up.
  • 5-Oversee the team's handoff of committed client opportunities to key business partners namely, implementations.
  • Key responsibilities include capturing and communicating all commitments to the client: pricing, investment lineup, and other client specific agreements.
  • 6-Establish operational objectives and work plans to ensure team development in all areas of core competencies including: proposal development, prospect meeting strategy and preparation, and commitment handoff.
  • 7-Maintain Empower's market competitiveness following up on all wins and losses to record and communicate the reasons for the outcome.
  • Brief senior management and other stakeholders on all opportunities including their characteristics, progress, outcomes, and identifying any opportunities for improvement.
  • 8-Manage and/or participate in strategic sales related initiatives and projects. Initiatives may include but are not limited to the following: Distribution structure, KPI-specific leadership, team alignment, etc.
  • 9-Performs securities compliance oversight as the principal of assigned registered sales representatives.
  • 10-Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • FINRA Series 6, 63, 26 and applicable state insurance licenses required.
  • 5 years relevant work experience, preferably in a sales environment
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • 5 years 401k, mutual fund or insurance background
  • Experience with 401k/pension industry strongly desired
  • Demonstrated sales and presentation skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with personal computers, contact management software, and
  • office software packages
  • Must have strong interpersonal, team-oriented, organizational,
  • leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel.

Base Salary Range

$141,400.00 - $205,075.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
