This combined team, in collaboration with key partners, builds solutions to serve Marketing, Customer Engagement, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs & Access ("CMG"), and other patient- and customer-facing teams across CMG to shape and drive a seamless, consistent, meaningful, and compliant experience for patients and customers across our interactions. The team is specifically accountable for:
Defining omnichannel solutions, shaping engagement strategies, designing, operationalizing, and producing seamless, consistent & meaningful patient and customer experiences. Accelerating, connecting, and enabling the development of digital solutions that enhance the patient and customer experience across CMG. Advancing the mission of seamless, consistent & meaningful patient and customer experiences that maximize patient impact while keeping compliance at the forefront.
Job Summary The Senior Program Manager is a key strategic partner that drives the successful execution of cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and program roadmaps. They facilitate collaboration across teams, manage complex program structures, and guarantee timely delivery of programs with quantifiable results. This role involves designing and implementing scalable operating models, establishing effective governance and communication plans, and proactively managing risks, resources, and interdependencies across a project portfolio. The Senior Program Manager works closely with the Program Management community to develop standardized practices for program and project management, governance, and communication - promoting cohesion and integration across products and teams. Key Responsibilities
Operates with a strategic, cross-functional mindset serving as a trusted thought partner to cross-functional stakeholders, including Business Product Owner(s) and / or Executive Director(s), supporting the delivery of the organizational program strategy and roadmap. Oversee alignment across multiple teams or functional groups in effort to meet the objective of key business initiatives. Help define program objectives, scope, and success criteria in alignment with organizational goals. Develop detailed program plans, including resourcing, timeline, prioritization, and roadblocks. Design a model for execution, including roles/responsibilities, communication plan, meetings/rituals, templates for key artifacts, & governance model including escalation plan for each project. Ensure on-time program delivery by managing across related project timelines and workflows. Manage the overall portfolio of projects and health of the program - identifying risks and escalating issues as needed to ensure project success. Ensure standards for documentation for project actions, progress, and outcomes are met. Identify interdependencies across a portfolio of projects and ensure appropriate order of operations & cross-team collaborations. Manage and communicate program-related changes effectively to ensure smooth delivery & align teams and stakeholders with evolving program goals and priorities. Consistently communicates program plans, progress, risks, changes, and successes with clarity and objectivity. Drives a high degree of accountability across program teams and groups in order to meet objectives and foster effective collaboration. Ensure internal team alignment to the product roadmap, coordinating across teams to meet product strategy and milestones. Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.
Who You Are Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, project management, operations, or a related field or equivalent experience. 5 years of experience in program or project management, preferably in a cross-functional or matrixed environment. Agile, PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification. Proven ability to manage project timelines, workflows, and resources to ensure on-time delivery. Demonstrated success in overseeing large-scale, cross-functional projects and delivering strategic business objectives. Strong ability to manage complex portfolios & coordinate multiple teams simultaneously, and work effectively under pressure. Experience in risk identification, escalation, and resolution. Proficiency in project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall. Expertise in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project) and reporting platforms. Strong organizational and analytical skills to monitor progress and measure success. Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management abilities to facilitate alignment across internal teams. High attention to detail and proficiency in documentation and reporting tools. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
Additional Desired Candidate Qualifications & Experience
Advanced degree, or equivalent experience (e.g., MBA or related graduate-level qualification). Advanced knowledge of risk mitigation strategies and escalation processes.
Location
This position is based in South San Francisco, CA, however a remote work option will be considered for US candidates who live outside of the Bay Area. Relocation Assistance is not available
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $136,080 - $252,720. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
