This combined team, in collaboration with key partners, builds solutions to serve Marketing, Customer Engagement, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs & Access ("CMG"), and other patient- and customer-facing teams across CMG to shape and drive a seamless, consistent, meaningful, and compliant experience for patients and customers across our interactions. The team is specifically accountable for:

  • Defining omnichannel solutions, shaping engagement strategies, designing, operationalizing, and producing seamless, consistent & meaningful patient and customer experiences.

  • Accelerating, connecting, and enabling the development of digital solutions that enhance the patient and customer experience across CMG.

  • Advancing the mission of seamless, consistent & meaningful patient and customer experiences that maximize patient impact while keeping compliance at the forefront.

Job Summary

The Production Team Lead, Media / Social is responsible for leading the production and delivery of Media and Social products and campaigns to ensure seamless, high-quality patient and customer experiences. The role involves managing a team of production specialists, driving on-time business delivery, providing strategic planning inputs, and championing a data-driven approach to product and campaign production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all media operations team functions for asset trafficking, including allocation of asset trafficking volume across team members, and the coordination of interdepartmental responsibilities between creative and media agency partners and internal teams.

  • Oversee organic social media content deployment according to respective brand marketing, medical affairs, corporate communications, and PR objectives.

  • Accountable for timely, high-quality, and high-satisfaction patient and customer experiences.

  • Oversee all paid, earned, and owned media data tagging and tracking implementation - including marketing campaign IDs, channel-specific tags, floodlights and click trackers.

  • Utilize industry standard tools for creative ad management and tagging implementation, including Google DV360, Campaign Manager, Tag Manager, Innovid, and LiveRamp.

  • Develop and execute procedures, in partnership with creative and media agency partners, for seamless transition of in-progress and approved creative files across Digital Asset Management tools, creative review platforms (e.g. Frame.io), Veeva, and media platforms.

  • Compose and implement best practice guidance to manage third-party creative asset quality assurance; spot check quality assurance processes in media platforms.

  • Regularly evaluate technology solutions and automations to improve efficiency and capacity of media operations functions, including asset tagging and trafficking.

  • Track and reduce time to market for creative assets from completion of post-production through to campaign launch dates; work in partnership with key internal stakeholders and creative and media agency partners to manage the asset trafficking process.

  • Ensure all media processes adhere to regulatory compliance and privacy standards, safeguarding the company's interests and customer data.

  • Work with cross-functional partners in Digital Experience, analytics, marketing, corporate communications, promotional review committees, medical and governance teams, and with agency partners, to compose, implement, and maintain effective, enterprise-wide media operations processes.

  • Coach, manage, and allocate work across both Genentech and Near-shore Roche Services & Solutions (RSS) resources in order to maximize effectiveness across the portfolio of products.

People

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Media Production team, fostering an exemplary employee experience, including a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability .

Who You Are

Minimum Candidate Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate work experience.

  • 5 years experience working in digital media planning or buying, digital marketing, media agencies, digital brand strategy, social media, or data analysis.

  • Proficient in application of click trackers and floodlight tags (HTML & Javascript).

  • Deep experience in the Google Marketing Platform (DV360, SA360, Campaign Manager, Tag Manager), LiveRamp, & Innovid.

  • Organic social media influencer engagement experience.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in coaching and developing talent.

  • Strong project management skills to lead operational delivery and ensure efficient resource utilization.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to align cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Experience activating campaign & above-campaign initiatives into organic social experiences and leading media/ social optimization pilots.

Additional Desired Candidate Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced certification in digital marketing / media.

  • Proficiency in programmatic and paid social ad platforms (TheTradeDesk, Facebook Ads Manager).

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries, or other large, matrixed organizations.

  • Experience managing multi-channel media campaigns single-handedly.

  • Experience working with media agencies.

  • Strong data proficiency with deep understanding of data technology and platforms.

  • Experience in brand marketing roles or collaboration with brand marketers to apply marketing strategy to media channels.

  • Strong grasp of media channel best practices for creative messaging, formatting, audience targeting, and bidding strategies.

  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment undergoing transformational change.

  • Strong customer orientation and focus.

  • Adaptive thinking and a strong, critical mindset.

  • Strong business acumen and presentation skills.

  • Highly proficient at project planning, resource management, and oversight.

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is 170,730 - 243,900 - 317,070. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
