The construction of fairlife's manufacturing facility in Webster, NY is underway. This state-of-the-art, 750k sq ft, greenfield plant is expected to be operational in late 2025 and will lay the foundation for fairlife's next phase of growth as the leading dairy nutrition provider. While coupling the industry's latest technologies and fairlife's operational excellence to build this world-class facility, fairlife plans to hire 250 new employees and bring in approximately 5 million lbs. of milk a day, with room to grow over the coming years.

job purpose:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and with limited supervision, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling all maintenance activities for all shifts. The Maintenance Planner must have a full understanding of and develop the preventative and predictive maintenance activities required to effectively maintain plant assets. The Maintenance Planner will determine how an activity will be performed and who will perform said activity. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for facilitating communication between production departments and maintenance departments regarding maintenance plans and schedules.

responsibilities:

Plans work



  • Responsible for initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope, and analysis of required level of planning.
  • Plans the estimated required time, labor resource/skills and MRO parts necessary to perform each activity and schedules activities based on equipment, resource and parts availability. Plans jobs with the appropriate level of detail for the given mechanical, electrical skill or work force.
  • Ensures safety procedures, including lock-out/tag out procedures, are available and used by personnel performing the work. Ensures that all aspects of the existing company safety policies are incorporated into the job plan.
  • Determines and includes Quality Assurance requirements on job.
  • Identifies specific safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of the proposed work.
  • Gathers necessary engineering, contractors, or technical documents, specifications, and drawings. Procures equipment and specialized tools required to perform job.
  • Writes clear and concise work procedures.
  • Determines and arranges parts required to perform the work to include kitting the parts required to increase "wrench time" and increase efficiencies.
  • Compiles the information into a job package that is ready for mechanics or operators - clearly communicates regarding critical steps in the process.
  • Upon completion of jobs, communicates and solicits feedback with mechanics and operators regarding ideas and procedures that would make future jobs more efficient.


Manages the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)



  • Maintains records of service cycles and other maintenance activities
  • Prints and delivers work orders and PMs to mechanics and operators in conjunction with the weekly work schedule.
  • Accurately measure the maintenance backlog in its various forms and maintains it to
  • Responsible for equipment and repair parts data entry and management.
  • Ensures all work orders and maintenance log items are closed when work is completed.
  • Communicates with contractor resources directly on specific work orders assigned to the contractors and the performance expectations of the work order. Does not manage the contractor but ensures that all the details of the work order are clearly communicated and understood.
  • Compiles and delivers reports from CMMS system regarding the work execution management process.


Builds Maintenance Schedules



  • Coordinates work with the other departments and ensures that all equipment and machinery are functioning to full capacity.
  • Builds and updates the plant's maintenance tracker schedule to align with all departments
  • Consults with maintenance supervisor, maintenance manager and other department leads on a weekly basis to gather all information and needs for each department


skills/qualifications required:



  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience in planning, mechanical discipline and/or supervisory
  • Experience with current CMMS system desirable but not required
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude
  • Some level of supervisory experience
  • Computer Skills required:
  • CMMS systems
  • Spread sheet and Word Processing (Microsoft)
  • Project Management software (MS Project)
  • Able to efficiently perform internet searches and research.
  • Able to read and interpret vendor manuals/drawings/P&ID's.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with mechanics, operators, vendors, OEM suppliers, and management personnel.
  • Able to perform some level of cost analysis and work within a structural budget.
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports.
  • Able to deliver a clear and concise presentation when required.
  • Ability to learn and apply maintenance best practices.
  • Ability to plan and organize tasks.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to analyze and assess training and development needs.
  • Systematic problem solver, implementing solutions to solve root cause.
  • Able to handle multiple complex priorities and balances the needs of each according to the business impact.


food safety requirements:



  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.

Salary: $80,000-$90,000
