Essential Functions

Processes bi-weekly payroll, responsible for entire payroll cycle.

Audits timecards and works with managers to resolve timecard issues.

Determines payroll liabilities and reconciles.

Processes quarterly payroll taxes.

Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

Answers payroll questions in an accurate and timely manner.

Maintains accurate employee personnel files and records.

Provides clerical support to the department.

Conducts new employee reference and employment verification checks.

Coordinates new hire orientation and training.

Reconciles monthly benefit invoices.

Creates and prepares weekly and monthly reports using HRIS.

Reviews daily/weekly IS audit reports.

Serves as a back-up for the HR Generalist functions:

Screens candidates for open positions

Initiates and manages new employee onboarding processes and activities

Processes hires and terminations in HRIS

Assist with HR new employee onboarding activities

Assist with new employees benefits onboarding

Processes FMLA forms for initial requests

Supervisory Responsibility

This position doesn't supervise.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is an on-site position.

Travel

As needed to meet with branch employees.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience

Minimum 3 years of clerical and admin experience

Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Strong problem-solving skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Proficient with creating reports using HRIS

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in business administration or human resources, or related field

1-2 years of human resources experience in a coordinator or assistant role

1-2 years of recruiting experience
