Job Summary:
M1 Support Services' Subject Matter Expert /Proposal Writer will support the development of high-quality proposals by
providing specialized subject matter expertise and technical writing support. This role will assist proposal managers,
capture managers, and pricing teams in crafting compliant, persuasive, and well-organized proposal volumes that align
with solicitation requirements. This on-call position is ideal for individuals with strong technical knowledge in
aerospace, defense, or government services who can be available on an as-needed basis for specific proposal efforts.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Subject Matter Expertise Contribution:
* Provide detailed technical knowledge and operational insight for assigned sections of proposals.
* Translate technical concepts into clear, customer-focused proposal language.
* Ensure that the solutions presented are feasible, executable, and compliant with solicitation requirements.
Proposal Writing and Editing:
* Draft and edit proposal sections including management plans, technical approaches, staffing plans, past
Performance summaries, and other required volumes.
* Ensure compliance with Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Information (RFI), or Sources Sought
Notice (SSN) requirements.
* Apply persuasive writing techniques to highlight M1's strengths and differentiators.
Collaboration with Proposal Team:
* Work closely with capture managers, proposal managers, pricing leads, and technical personnel to gather
information and clarify solution elements.
* Attend kickoff meetings, color team reviews (Pink, Red, Gold), and working sessions as required.
* Incorporate feedback from proposal reviews and edit drafts accordingly.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
* Ensure all written content complies with customer instructions, evaluation criteria, and M1 Support
Services' internal quality standards.
* Conduct internal reviews to verify technical accuracy and consistency.
* Support editing, proofreading, and formatting efforts to ensure a polished final product.
Research and Content Development:
* Research into customer environments, missions, and objectives to ensure proposal relevance.
* Assist in developing standard content libraries and reusable proposal materials for future use.

Qualifications and Experience:
Education
* Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or a related
field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical proposal writing and/or subject matter expertise support,
preferably in defense, aerospace, or government contracting sectors.
Knowledge/Skills:
* Demonstrated ability to write and edit large, complex proposals under tight deadlines.
* Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Department of Defense (DoD) procurement
processes preferred.
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
* Ability to understand and convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
* Excellent organizational, writing, editing, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, on-call capacity.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance if required (preferred but not mandatory for all
assignments).
Working Conditions:
* Remote/On-Call.
* Must have access to a secure workspace with reliable internet connectivity.
* Flexibility to work irregular hours based on proposal schedule demands.
* Limited to no travel required; however, virtual meetings and collaboration will be
necessary.
