Valiant has an immediate need to fill the Director of Security position at our headquarters office in Herndon, VA. This individual will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and have responsibility to lead and implement the DoD Industrial Security Program and security operations across a large business sector in a highly dynamic, diverse, and geographically dispersed set of National Security efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of work scopes, security operational procedures, policies, and overall strategic planning for the multifaceted security activities to include the Insider Threat Program. Oversee the operations of multiple cleared facilities and the integration of security systems, operations, and technologies designed to protect the national security interests. Interact routinely with the VLT, staff at all levels and directly with DCSA and other government security offices.
- Provides professional direction, leadership, and coordination of all aspects of company's national / industrial security programs. Provide strategic leadership, consultation, and expertise related to physical security environment and security technologies/practices.
- Serve as a principal point of collaboration, leadership, and expertise to both internal and external stakeholders on professional and operational matters pertaining to the mission, goals, objectives, and work scope of the program.
- Provide advanced technical leadership and direction to subordinate staff, and community organizations and representatives within a broadly specified area of professional expertise, in accordance with program goals and objectives.
- Recommend, participate in the development of, and establish security policy and procedures; establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate program effectiveness; effect changes required for improvements.
- Represent the organization to internal and external customers and serve as primary security liaison between governmental agencies and/or investigative agencies.
Oversee all facets of the daily operations of the security program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Participate as a member of NCMS and management team; provide input and subject matter expertise to leadership regarding security matters. - Be involve in developing and managing annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses; plan and develop strategies and programs for generating revenues for departmental use. Oversee the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluate peak performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.

- Bachelor's degree; at least 10 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified with 5 years of supervisory experience managing large, diverse, decentralized team
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, methods, and techniques within the security field to include, personnel, COMSEC, classified processing and storage, physical and technological security
- Expert knowledge of National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, Intelligence Directives, and Foreign Ownership Control and Influence (FOCI) mitigation agreement required
- Experience overseeing the operations of cleared facilities and the integration of security systems, operations, and technologies designed to protect the national security interests of the United States per 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) and other regulatory requirements
- Experience in the planning, development, implementation, and operation of a security program for cleared facilities
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with a wide range of colleagues in a diverse community
- Planning, development, implementation, and leadership skills. Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment within a complex organizational structure. Strategic planning skills
- Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional staff and clientele in the field. Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
- Ability to gather facts and data for technical proposals and to expand upon them or develop alternatives and to evaluate emerging technologies and security trends.
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short-and long-range goals.
- Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees. This job will primarily be in an Office Setting.
