Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Liquid Process Operator to join our team at our facility located in O'Fallon, Missouri. This position requires expertise in the liquid batch manufacturing process, specifically for food flavor(s). The operator will be responsible for managing the liquid batch production, including using mixers, pumps, scales, and filling equipment to ensure the process flows smoothly and product quality is maintained.

As a Liquid Process Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the blending, pumping, and filling of liquid batches into reaction processing tanks. You'll need to follow detailed instructions, monitor critical process parameters, and test samples to guarantee high-quality results. This role requires the use of filtration equipment, forklift operation, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain mixers, pumps, scales, and filling equipment for liquid batch manufacturing.
  • Follow shop orders and blend products by adjusting valves and raw material feed systems.
  • Monitor reaction parameters and make necessary adjustments to ensure product quality.
  • Perform in-process quality control, including sampling and testing reaction tanks.
  • Use sifting/filtration equipment and pump finished products into silos.
  • Tote out liquid products and assist with packaging when needed.
  • Ensure proper use and certification of forklifts, including assisting with material handling.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas in compliance with GMP standards.
  • Communicate status and progress of the batch process, ensuring batch integrity.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, including Hazard Communication and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Complete temporary or miscellaneous tasks as directed by the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience & Skills:
    • Familiarity with blending, pumping, and filling equipment, including the ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot.
    • Basic literacy and numerical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
    • Basic computer skills and familiarity with IFS system.
    • Forklift certification required; must be able to operate electric and hydraulic forklifts.
    • Knowledge of materials used in liquid processing and an understanding of batch sheet processes.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 60-pound bags and 75-pound boxes.
    • Ability to work in environments with varying temperature and humidity levels.
    • Ability to wear and use required PPE (uniforms, steel-toed boots, hard hats, gloves, ear protection, goggles, etc.).
  • Hazards & Safety:
    • Exposure to acidic and caustic agents, chemical fumes, and the potential for hazardous materials.
    • Must be alert and adhere to all safety procedures to avoid accidents and injuries.
    • Potential exposure to disagreeable odors and dust particulate in the manufacturing area.

Work Schedule:

  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 5:45 AM to 2:15 PM
  • Union Facility: This position is part of a unionized work environment.
