About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for hardware/electrical design for automotive products (sensors and microphones). You will be responsible for analysis of HW requirements, executing, and evaluating designs, performing circuit analysis, designing PCB layout, supporting DV/PV testing, and leading engineering projects through the full product development lifecycle to meet the customer requirement. Demonstrate the ability to plan, define, and execute the hardware development for automotive electronic products with no supervision.

What You Will Do

  • Schematic and layout entry in Mentor.

  • Managing Mentor component library.

  • Development of microphone electronics for automotive customers with the help of simulation tools.

  • Prototype- and customer sample builds.

  • Measurement of audio electronics and general electronics.

  • Product documentation.

  • Create test instructions and support external and in house validation tests.

  • Creation of test reports, specifications, and competitor investigations.

  • Technical contact to international customers.

  • Handling component end of life issues.

  • The following HARMAN competencies are most critical to this role: Change Orientation, Collaboration, and Results Driven.

What You Need to be Successful

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related discipline. A master's degree in electrical engineering is preferred.

  • 5+ years' experience in analog/digital electronic development, preferably in audio electronics.

  • Practical experience with audio electronic.

  • Basic knowledge of acoustics, particularly microphone acoustics.

  • Experience with - or at least affinity for - automotive applications.

  • Mentor CAD schematic and layout entry.

  • Basic knowledge simulation tools.

  • EMC basics.

  • Ability to write reports and technical correspondence to internal and external customers and suppliers.

  • Strong communication skills, with good knowledge of spoken and written English.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Background in microphones, audio technology and architecture.

  • Experience with Automotive Standards.
