Service Security Technician - Northern Alabama (Birmingham, Hoover, Tuscaloosa) Company: TEKsystems Location: Northern Alabama (Birmingham, Hoover, Tuscaloosa) Travel Radius: Up to 2 hours (occasional coverage in Jackson, MS) Employment Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Intermediate On-Call Rotation: Every 6 weeks (full weekend) Perks: Company vehicle, gas card, drive time included Job Overview TEKsystems is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Security Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of banking and security equipment including ATMs, TCRs, alarm systems, CCTV, and access control systems. This is a field-based position ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities * Install and service TEKsystems security and banking equipment * Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions * Respond to service calls and provide customer training * Maintain accurate records via our technician mobile app * Manage parts inventory in your service vehicle * Provide remote tech support and pre-call troubleshooting * Collaborate with dispatch to coordinate service calls * Train customers on newly installed systems * Mentor junior technicians when onsite Required Skills * Experience with security systems, access control, alarm systems, CCTV, and low-voltage cabling (Cat5) * Strong troubleshooting and installation skills * Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks * Excellent communication and customer service skills What You'll Need * Basic hand tools (specialty tools provided) * Valid driver's license and clean driving record * Willingness to travel within a 2-hour radius * Ability to work on-call every 6 weeks Why Join TEKsystems? * Competitive compensation * Company vehicle and gas card * Paid drive time * Opportunities for growth and advancement * Work with a supportive and experienced team Ready to take your career to the next level with TEKsystems? Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
