HJF is seeking an Assistant Global Security Officer to be responsible for supporting the Security leadership in implementing and maintaining the organization's security and risk management global (CONUS and OCONUS) programs. This position will handle various administrative and operational tasks related to industrial security programs, ensuring compliance with government regulations (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Department of Defense (DoD) contractual requirements and company policies. This position will be in support of HJF's corporate Security department. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
Responsibilities
- Personnel Security: Assist with security clearances, including processing paperwork, managing databases, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (NISPOM, DD254s). Manage, prepare, and track all Department of Defense Contract Security Classification Specifications (DD Form 254s) provided from the government/prime contractor as well as those necessary for distribution to subcontractors.
- Administrative Support: Maintain security records and update databases (i.e. International SOS (ISOS) and Travel Tracker), manage the processing of security clearance paperwork including the collection and review of relevant documents. Oversee quality assurance and control of the fingerprinting process. Reconcile invoices and expenses, assist managing contracts, procurement, payment of subscribed services and other administrative duties related to security.
- Physical Security/Risk Management: Support the development and implementation of security procedures, conduct self-inspections and manage access control systems. This includes assisting Safety Security Focal Points (SSFPs) with the development and testing of Country Security Plans (CSPs) and Emergency Action Plans. Ensure all plans are efficient, effective, current, maintained, applicable and being implemented by the projects.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant security regulations and industry standards including monitoring compliance with safety, security and emergency preparedness-related organizational policies and procedures.
- Security Training and Awareness: Track all security training completed via the International SOS (ISOS) portal. May develop and deliver security briefings and awareness programs.
- Incident Response: May assist and support in investigating security breaches or violations including managing incident tracking to ensure proper functioning via Vector Portal.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Security or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience required.

- Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with various populations
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, ability to handle multiple priorities and prioritize demands
- Detail-orientated
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret and implement security policy, provide clear guidance, oversight and assistance to company personnel
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Active T5/Top Secret Clearance preferred, must be eligible to obtain a T5/Top Secret Clearance.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
Work Environment
- This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
Compensation
- The annual salary range for this position is $64,200-$90,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
