Overview:

Egan Company is seeking qualified candidates for an Estimator position in Industrial Controls team located in Champlin, MN. This role is responsible for the timely, accurate, and consistent estimates of Electrical projects. Assist Project Managers with establishing and accomplishing project goals and objectives while maintaining schedules and budgets.


Responsibilities:


  • Becoming familiar with the materials, equipment, and components being installed by Egan Company trades.



  • Assist Project Manager in identifying schedules of work and ordering of materials and equipment for assigned projects.



  • Work with Project Managers in estimating project pricing and creating proposal letters.



  • Assist in monitoring of subcontractors contracts, schedules, and cost control.



  • Ensure that Egan Company Safety policies and goals are communicated and followed on projects.



  • Attend project meetings as required.



  • Assist Project Managers with preparing project billings and associated documentation.



  • Coordinate and manage the project punch list process.



  • Manage and update project contract drawings and specifications in Egan systems.



  • Manage Egan tradespeople on our project sites.



  • Develop and foster long-term relationships with customers through quality performance and work.



  • Assume a proactive approach to career development and attend training courses as recommended by Group Manager.



  • Other duties as assigned.




Requirements:

  • 3 years of construction field experience.
  • 2-year associate's degree or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent level of technical training and related construction experience).
  • 2 years or estimating experience in related industry.
  • Travel to jobsites and client sites


Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret specs and blue prints
  • Working knowledge of codes in the electrical discipline
  • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to present to both internal and external groups.
  • Strong organizational skills to deal with competing customer needs.
  • Strong negotiation skills required.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide sufficiently to perform standard mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and reacts to these appropriately.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office


Working Conditions:



  • This position may require travel to customer sites in and around the Greater Twin Cities Metro.

Salary Range: $72,000-$92,000 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
