Manager - UAP Residency - Grant Funded

The Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Residency Program Manager is an expert in the specialty of nursing education, specifically coordination of transition to practice. In addition, the UAP Program Manager has teaching responsibilities in the program. This position is Coterminous with funding.

• 1. Responsibilities include coordination and implementation of the UAP Residency Program across YNHHS.
• 1.1 Coordinates all elements of the program including: faculty, room and equipment needs, speakers, subject matter experts and all components to meet the requirements of the curriculum.

• 2.1 Oversight for ongoing UAP resident grant requirements, invoicing, budget and metrics.
• 3. Faculty Role
• 3.1 Actively engages in teaching course material when necessary.

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree Required, Masters degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Recent nursing clinical experience preferred. Experience coordinating a multi-faceted program with meaningful outcomes. Demonstrated understanding of educational principles and adult learning theory required. Proficient in MS Office applications.

LICENSURE

Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Exceptionally detail oriented and organized. Proven ability in managing simultaneous projects to meet business goals and objectives. Ability to establish relationships with diverse, cross-functional teams. verbal communication skills; able to deliver clear, concise information and direction to stakeholders and UAP team members.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

Requires prolonged standing; walking; use of sight, hearing, and touch. May be exposed to infectious diseases. Will be exposed to physical, mental and emotional illness as well as end of life conditions and death. Moderate stress and risk of injury from patient care. Standing/walking for more than half of the day. Frequently bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting and lifting. Must be able to assist pushing/pulling/lifting patients ranging from five (5) to three hundred (300) pounds. Travel across the YNHHS to various hospital sites as needed.
