Position: President of AE Wealth Management

We are searching for the next President of AE Wealth Management, our premier in-house RIA platform managing $34.9 billion in AUM. We seek a leader with a proven track record in driving strategic innovation and who is eager to shape the future of independent financial advising. As President, you will define and execute the long-term strategy for AEWM, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve with cutting-edge technology and services in a fast-evolving industry.
Partnering with senior leadership, you will align AEWM's vision with Advisors Excel's broader organizational goals while driving innovation and growth across key areas such as sales, technology advancements, product development, and advisor services. As an industry expert, you will represent AEWM on stage at major events, building relationships that amplify our value to advisors. What you'll do:
- Define and champion the long-term strategic vision for AEWM as a premier RIA platform supporting independent advisors across the U.S.
- Inspire and align AEWM's leadership and internal teams around a shared mission to support independent advisors nationwide with scalable strategies and exceptional service.
- Manage core areas of AEWM, including sales, investments, technology solutions, product development, and Wealth Marketing initiatives.
- Provide mentorship to direct reports: set clear expectations, monitor progress toward goals, deliver regular feedback, and document performance through reviews.
- Guide strategic decision-making in areas such as business development, advisor services, client experience, and enterprise initiatives.
- Continuously look for ways to improve the advisor and client experience through innovative strategies and best practices.
- Lead AEWM through ongoing industry evolution, staying ahead of trends and positioning the firm for long-term relevance and advisor success.
- Serve as the public face of AEWM, representing the organization with confidence and clarity in presentations, events, and strategic communications.
- Deepen engagement with AEWM-affiliated advisors, investors, and strategic partners through strong relationship-building and a clear articulation of AEWM's value.
- Direct AEWM's budgeting and resource planning with a strategic lens, ensuring investments align with long-term advisor and business growth priorities.
- Partner with department and executive leaders to align strategy and communication across Annuity, Life, Medicare, and Wealth teams, ensuring AEWM strengthens the firm's overall holistic offering to advisors
Experience you'll bring:
- 10+ years of executive leadership experience in the investment advisory space, ideally with exposure to the independent RIA model
- Solid understanding of FinTech trends and strategies; prior experience overseeing firm-wide technology initiatives is a plus
- Strong knowledge of SEC regulations and evolving compliance standards
- Proven track record of setting and executing strategic vision for a growing organization
- Deep understanding of the independent advisor landscape, including RIAs, IARs, and broader financial services trends
- Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities; skilled at influencing and aligning large, diverse teams
- Outstanding communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to represent the organization internally and externally
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical judgment, curiosity, and adaptability
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- Efficient time management and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
Bonus Points:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree or relevant industry certifications (e.g., CFP, CFA)
- Experience working with or supporting independent financial advisors or advisory firms across multiple markets
- Background in scaling an RIA platform or wealth management business
