Wieland is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Summer Intern. The Mechanical Engineer Summer intern will be responsible for projects assigned by leadership and is meant to provide valuable experience in international business, manufacturing and specifically in metals. This role is located in Edwardsville, IL and will be fully on-site.

ThThHHourly Pay Range: $25/hr

Mechanical Engineer Summer Intern Responsibilities:

Perform tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Complete an overall summer project and write a closing final report with appropriate photos, graphs, and data as directed by the supervisor.
• Learn about global and local copper circularity within the engineering job scope
• Learn about business and corporations, and manufacturing.

Mechanical Engineer Summer Intern Qualifications:

• Engineering or maintenance or mechanical or electrical focus.
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Must be a Team Player and able to communicate effectively across all layers of the organization (corporate, metal purchasing, environmental, sustainability, plant management, laboratory, engineering, shop floor, yard, dock)
• Strong interpersonal, cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural communication and leadership skills are required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and practical "can-do" attitude are expected.
• Must want to work in "hands-on" situations and apply "book knowledge" and "logic" towards real-world solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in office, remote, and heavy manufacturing settings.

• Self-motivator, eager to learn and grow.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products a plus.
