Position Summary: The UBT Wholesale Loan Operations Department services all types of Commercial and Agricultural loans, by generating loan documents and disbursement of funds. This professional is motivated, an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and the proven ability to deliver exceptional service. The Commercial Closer also works closely with other members of the Wholesale Loan Operations team in relation to a variety of loan transactions. This role is eligible for hybrid work from home opportunity under the work from home guidelines up to one day per week upon completion of onboarding. Essential Functions:
- Generate initial, closing and amended loan documentation, including but not limited to: notes, letters of credit, participation agreements, change in terms agreements, security documents, guaranties, construction, and entity lending resolutions including Commercial, Aircraft, Church, Attorney Prepared, Commercial Real Estate, Residential Real Estate and Construction, Business Purpose, and Ag.
- Conduct the initial disbursement of funds surrounding loan closings will working with Lenders and Relationship Assistants to coordinate proper disbursement.
- Read and understand preclosing loan documentation to support generation of loan documents. This includes Title Commitments, appraisals, UCC, entity documents, Etc.
- Work through complex problems and situations during the loan origination process.
- Engage in in-depth dialogues, conversations, and explanations, often on sensitive and complex items, while embodying trust, credibility, and diplomacy.
- Involvement and understanding of diversified procedures, specialized job standards, and specific policies, along with agreed-upon objectives, deadlines, and priorities.
- Understand risk to ensure proper policy, procedure, and documentation is followed to mitigate potential errors that can be significant including, but not limited to lawsuits, lost assets or revenue of a significant value or poor external audit.
- Perform back-up responsibilities for other loan operations staff as needed.
- Foster a collaborative environment while providing exceptional support to production staff by appropriately managing review deadlines with production goals in mind, anticipating their needs and ensuring team members feel supported by maintaining clear and effective communication, demonstrating empathy, and providing accurate information in reviews.
- Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws, and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
- Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
- Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years banking experience preferred.
- Computer skills are required. This role demands a moderate level of proficiency with computer systems and an understanding of how to use software to achieve goals.
- Solid foundation in basic and financial math. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, solving equations, applying formulas, understanding interest calculations, interpret amortization, and using math skills to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Knowledge and understanding of bank/government regulations and loan policy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and other bank/financial software.

Working Environment: Indoor work - not exposed to outdoor elements or hazards. Sedentary work, occasionally lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.
