Field Commissioning Engineer - Power Systems

How you'll make an impact

• Perform hands-on commissioning of substation and FACTS equipment

• Test and validate AC/DC circuits, protection systems, and interlocks

• Support installation and energization of transformers, switchgear, and cooling systems

• Collaborate with teams to ensure safety and quality standards

• Interpret technical drawings and relay information to project teams

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in real-time on-site

• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety protocols

• Represent Hitachi Energy with professionalism and technical expertise

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in an electrical-related field

• 3-5 years of experience in HV substation or power quality commissioning

• Familiar with SVC, STATCOM, capacitor banks, and related systems

• Skilled in testing transformers, relays, SCADA/RTU, and protection circuits

• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and technical documentation

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
