Velosity Brooklyn Park is searching for a Secondary Operations Technician - Precision Machining to support our manufacturing facility in Brooklyn Park, MN. A Secondary Operations Technician in Precision machining plays a crucial role in the production process by performing additional tasks that enhance the quality and precision of machined parts.

Shift: 2nd shift. Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am.

The typical pay range for this role: $20 - $26/hour. This role is also eligible for a 5% quarterly bonus target.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Essential Duties:

  • Execute tasks such as drilling, grinding, beveling, polishing, and deburring to refine and finish machined components.
  • Inspect parts to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards, using tools like microscopes and optical comparators.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot secondary operation equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work closely with primary Machine operators and other team members to ensure seamless production flow and address any issues that arise.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, including any adjustments made to processes or equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or in a machining environment is often preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Proficiency in using various secondary operation machines such as Ultra-sonic cleaning equipment, polishing machines, tumblers and deburring equipment.
  • Ability to perform precise work and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues with equipment or processes.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and write in English, comprehend and follow work instructions.
  • Able to use measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, dial indicators

  • Standing, Walking, Kneeling, Bending, Reaching, Pulling, Twisting, Turning, Seeing, Hearing
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional tool shop with normal lighting, and climate control. This position requires the employee to work on a manufacturing floor where they may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
