Job Description

Oversees clinical nutrition services for Hospital patients including evaluating their nutritional, designing treatment plans for high-risk patients, screening for potential drug-nutrient interactions and managing dietary activities and patient tray assembly. Promotes and maintains an active liaison with the Hospital Medical Staff, Nursing Service Personnel and Diet Office Staff as the resource in the nutritional needs of the patients and in regards to any operational problems related with patient feeding. Provides direction in the development of the Hospital's nutritional care policies and procedures, evaluates patient nutritional care practices and monitors the department Performance Improvement program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in food and nutrition required with Master's degree in related field desirable.

Certification in a nutrition specialty desirable (i.e., CNSD, CDE, Renal).

Registered with the American Dietetic Association.

Recent experience as a hospital dietitian, and or clinical nutrition management, community nutrition education/public speaking.

Personnel and project management experience.

Proficient in patient information and nutrition software systems, word processing and database programs.
